"Engrossing flute recital"

Whether it was a sensitive kriti like Terateyagrada (Gowlipantu) or the alap for Bhushavali the musical flow was graceful. There was something at once primal & cerebral in Raman's artistry.

Talented flutist V.K Raman has won popularity in abundance. His concert was as reassuring as ever. The alap for Anandabhairavi saw him in an ebullient mood and the familiar krithi Marivere was played with right amount of melodic fervor.

"Tricky Rhythmic Patterns"

V.K. Raman gave an impressive recital and his Katina sadhana has favoured him with a praise worthy hold over the technique of the demanding instrument. He had an amazing lungpower with which the continuity of the flow of the sound could be maintained and above all the vocal based renditions did create a desirable impact.

"Refined Tonal Qualities"

V.K. Raman let his concert take a course that served well artistically and aesthetically. Irrespective of whose composition he was handling, he made it extremely musical and expressive and bringing to bear on his interpretation sweetness and sensitivity of tone that proclaimed his deep understanding of the music. A refined tonal quality pervaded the entire concert and peak of the performance was touched in Yadukula Kambhoji with some captivating gliding sancharas. A lot of soulful music flowed from the heart to cherish and for the mind to treasure in its memory.

"Music indispensable in 'Krishna Bhakthi'"

Raman kalyan on traditional bamboo flute distilled the lament and passion of the character's dual lives.
